Are You Giving Unasked For Spiritual Advice As Well? In this world of relativity, discrimination must be our guide. However, those of you who think you are qualified to give spiritual advice to friends, co-workers or relatives who have not asked for it must realize it is of no benefit to those unappreciative who would snap at their-would be-spiritual advisor with scorn and cynicism. All of you would-be reformers of others should themselves live intelligently before planting wisdom in the hearts of others.
People who wallow deeply in worldly gunk are insensitive to the understanding gems of wisdom of the sages who talk about invaluable happiness of keeping the “self” under total control. As it is said never cast your pearls before swine nor give that which is holy unto the dogs, they would doltishly trample on what is cast before them. Attempting to advise or reform low-minded individuals with helpful spiritual counsel will likely be met with sneers of sarcasm. It is advisable not to offer spiritual truths to those who lack self-control, devotion or to one who does not care to hear as you will find out the hard way that obscure people have no intention or wish to transform themselves and ridicule the lofty principles and those who advocate them with laughter. Until the recipient is ready it is better to stay away or remain reserved or you’re outstretched helping hand be slapped.
Some uneducated people who don’t know any better often misbehave and should just illuminate the scene in silence instead of being made a fool of by speaking. We see smart intellectuals with their oversensitive imaginations misbehave as well by misunderstanding their associates. This is the danger of analyzing others.
Keep in mind if you do try to reason with those who are always in doubt, mostly negative and somewhat confused when your own consciousness is not yet established in true understanding, your brain can also be infected by confusion and doubt. Too many people try to press their points arguing. It’s best to let them have their sense of winning. There is zero use in talking to them.
At the work place we all know how hard it is to hold our tongue and remain mentally calm when we are irritated by other people. It is impossible for us to go through life saying to everyone that irritates or annoys us how to behave because tremendous resentment is created from unsolicited advice.
Unless the people around you have asked for counsel one should not try to impose their beliefs or thoughts upon them. The mistake made by novices is that the moment they feel inspired they try to change the whole work place with an all out revolution to convert everyone, but this type of eagerness arouses antagonism in the work place. No one wants to be told what to do when they are not seeking guidance; you must change your self first and others will be reformed by being an example of what you want them to be. Who wants to have advice forced upon them? Put as much effort in the direction towards being a person who is looked up to and respected- that is what carries weight. As long as you demonstrate tension and nervousness around your co-workers, they will behave and react in a similar way. If you want to change the atmosphere at work, do not expect a change overnight, but by taking the initiative the natural process of change may come.
How can you expect to coexist with everybody? There can be a karmic explanation why we do not get along with certain people or some lesson to be taught or debt with that person. The fact that you have conflict with them suggests that you must be with that person to learn the faults in your character. If someone fights with his or her co-workers most of the time, it reveals that in a previous life they knew each other and established hatred in their hearts for each other. They were probably archenemies. Therefore, according to the karmic laws of attraction and repulsion which involves hatred, the universe will bring the combating souls back together again in close proximity such as a small area in the workplace so they can engage themselves once again in the little arena. So be careful! Do not attract your enemy’s bad habits near you by constantly thinking about him through the conduit of hate. It is wise to keep your bad habits out of the work place, These types of character flaws should also be hidden from your co-workers to avoid unfavorable reactions.
Then What Is Considered The Highest Duty Of Human Service There Is To A fellow Being? When spiritual individuals, instructors or teachers inspire and motivate spiritual fugitives, runaways and escapees to come back Him that is considered the highest duty of human service there is to a fellow being. The Lord loves to see His children consciously search for Him, and is very pleased when a spiritual guide influences them to come unto Him. The Great Ones choose able, willing devotees on earth to deliver other men from ignorance and suffering. On your human life the immortals have put their invisible hands.
However those who do meditate and are on the spiritual path must be cautious about encouraging or persuading people to study the teaching of the masters when they are not ready. It is best to keep your mouth shut. When a soul is ready the master appears in some form to prepare them by having someone offering them a book or recommends a teacher to awaken them but when the desire is strong enough and they want to emancipate their “self” God will send a guru or master. There is an unwillingness to meditate for some and is a veil over man’s eyes which prevent him to attune himself with God and therefore he or she misses the opportunity to find a true spiritual master and the true goal of life.
Warnings from Paramahansa Yogananda. One is taking life to gravely and the other is giving spiritual advice to those who have not asked for help. Earth is an awful place and there is no safety here. What should we do? Don’t take this life to seriously, overcome delusion by holding on to this one thought. Our whole existence is nothing more than God’s motion picture and we are the actors. Act out your part well but do not identify with your role in the movie.
The donkey told the tiger, “The grass is blue.” The tiger replied, “No, the grass is green .” The discussion became heated, and the two decided to submit the issue to arbitration, so they approached the lion. As they approached the lion on his throne, the donkey started screaming: ′′Your Highness, isn’t it true that the grass is blue?” The lion replied: “If you believe it is true, the grass is blue.” The donkey rushed forward and continued: ′′The tiger disagrees with me, contradicts me and annoys me. Please punish him.”The king then declared: ′′The tiger will be punished with 3 days of silence.”
The donkey jumped with joy and went on his way, content and repeating ′′The grass is blue, the grass is blue…” The tiger asked the lion, “Your Majesty, why have you punished me, after all, the grass is green?” The lion replied, ′′You’ve known and seen the grass is green.” The tiger asked, ′′So why do you punish me?” The lion replied, “That has nothing to do with the question of whether the grass is blue or green. The punishment is because it is degrading for a brave, intelligent creature like you to waste time arguing with an ass, and on top of that, you came and bothered me with that question just to validate something you already knew was true!”
The biggest waste of time is arguing with the fool and fanatic who doesn’t care about truth or reality, but only the victory of his beliefs and illusions. Never waste time on discussions that make no sense. There are people who, for all the evidence presented to them, do not have the ability to understand. Others who are blinded by ego, hatred and resentment, and the only thing that they want is to be right even if they aren’t. When IGNORANCE SCREAMS, intelligence moves on.
