The bee loves the fragrance of the lotus flower and forgetting sits in his grave while the petals close in on him to its death. The male elephant is lured by his love for sense of touch right into the trap of the tamed she-elephant. How the fish love the water and its taste and dies when removed. The moose is lured by his love of music to the flute of the hunter and therefore it dies. The insect loves beauty and sight and soon perishes attempting to relish in the white loveliness of the candle flame.
Each one of these animals and insects end up dying as a result of their addiction to the sense of touch, sound, smell, taste or sight. But human beings have attachments to all five senses and must watch every step to save themselves from the desires of blind will to avoid jumping into the crevasses of the fires of the five senses.
This Could Be Your Future
As the consciousness flows outward from sense abuse the astral body drawn by magnetized sense attachments or abuses to matter, you see the delicate expression of original astral-blueprints become progressively more muddled and gross, losing its true astral-design-form from distortion. The composition of the astral-blueprints animates the bodily processes of the physical body. Thus the creative power of the astral body thrusts itself into the physical form through several subtle centers in the body. The nineteen powers interwoven with the astral-blueprints are what maintain, enliven and build the gross physical form.
The master tells us that within the spiritual eye lies the answer of the body’s state of karmic impurity or purity according to the reflection of the vibrations issuing from the flow of the spinal center’s astral currents. Our fleshy house is perishable and if we do not live hygienically and follow dietary and health laws, we will die of disease. Contrary, if we follow the laws of health and keep a watchful eye on our bad habits, we enhance the chances of being born with a strong and healthy body in our next incarnation. If we abuse our body by transgressing health laws by over indulging in food, tobacco, sex or drugs, we alter the DNA code of our physical body. This then affects our astral-blueprints, and the outcome is dependent upon the level of the abuse to our physical body.
One must become divinely indifferent
Unfulfilled desires and addictions to the senses remain in the heart through incarnations and the harm of harboring them is that every desire consists of specific forces with magnetic fields of attraction and repulsion; when man falls into the traps of illusion with likes and dislikes he is caught in the web of desires and through desires he unconsciously unleashes the power of the disciplinarian law of karma.
What goes through your mind when you see someone gulping down their food like there is no tomorrow? Most would say that the person who eats too fast has a very bad habit, why? The greed for food affects many people. Some joke about their so called daily fix; I have to have my cappuccino or I will not be able to function.
This body, the five senses are the five chains which keep our soul bound to our bodies. Therefore, where do we start? We start with the way we eat. Start fasting to spiritualize your body and your mind. You have to fast one day a week to live more by life force and less and less by gross physical material in your body.
The more you begin to transfer your body consciousness from food the more you begin to feel free from constant hunger, and then you begin to withdraw from your body. This body attachment is based upon food and that is why all the great yogis are ascetics. The first thing advanced yogis do is not to use food primarily for enjoyment but only eat food that the body needs. To use food to replace decayed material in the body involves constant change in physical cells which ultimately deteriorates and dies. So to live longer and healthier, fast one day a week, that’s fifty two days a year without food and this, allows your body to clean up. Unless you fast to clean up your body your cells cannot be receptive to astral energy.
If every day you sit quietly for a little while and analyze yourself, you will discover that you have many unspecified desires. Sudden unsatisfied desires are a state of frustration, a state of hostility and anger. Up in your attic you store all unwanted unnecessary junk and once in a while you give it a good house cleaning. Similarly hidden away in the attic of your subconscious mind are many potential harmful desires that one day will create great problems. Like ticking bombs they are triggered by the environment you are in. Desires must be rational desires, which means not to have what you want but what you need. Imperatively, you must learn to differentiate between them. You can classify your desires; just keep the good ones because today you may wish for one thing but tomorrow you may want ‘something’ else. The desire for God is the supreme desire we should satisfy foremost. From the teachings of PY.
