Today`s subject from the Bible. «Therefore, the Jews sought Him to kill him because he not only has broken the Sabbath but said also God was his Father, making himself equal with God». There are two things we have to understand in this sentence, in this text of the Bible. ———Jews and mass were not responsible. For there were learned Jews and there were ignorant Jews. Learned Brahmins and ignorant Brahmins, learned priests and ignorant priests. We find ignorant fanatical people in all times in history. They have created great disorder and trouble and under the name of religion they have perpetrated worst crimes. Out of the Bible which teaches that if anybody hits you on the left cheek, turn the right cheek.
The Spanish inquisition and all kinds of wars of crusade and destruction of people have been perpetrated. The Christian Bible is not responsible for that. So these people, ignorant people, they thought: «Why was Jesus claming to be one with God?». Because he didn`t know any better. In the ocean there are many waves. Each wave is a bulge of the ocean. It is not good to say that the wave has become the ocean, but it is correct to say that the ocean has become the wave. For the ocean can remain without the wave, but the wave cannot remain without the ocean. What Jesus meant…Jesus did not say «I am God».
Jesus knew that God had become himself. As all liberated masters feel. The little waves of human beings, were egotistical after learning a little bit of religion they say «We are God» or «I am God». They are mistaken to say that. As no wave should be spoken of as the ocean; no human being should claim to be God. But as it is correct to say that the ocean has become the wave so it is correct to say: «God is in me», or «God has become myself». That`s the correct and wonderful thing to say because you destroy all egotism thereby.
Giving God the supreme chance of manifestation. There is nothing else but God, but as soon as you think that you are God you have separated yourself from God. And that is egotistical and spiritually disastrous for you because you will be separated from God and you will produce the egotism that you are God when you are not God, a little…somebody ——–a few bricks on your head, perhaps one little piece of brick on the right place and your god will escape from your body. That this, the great God who He is with all the worlds and universes being crushed and coming and going in but he doesn`t say anything.
Waves change but the Ocean doesn`t. Creation changes but God doesn`t. That`s why Jesus very clearly said: «That`s why I love Him so much». He was one of the greatest. He said: «What my Father knows even I know not.» —-Gives the whole thing to God and also in the Jewish interpretation of God as: «There is no other God but the God of gods.» That`s very beautiful. But anybody who is liberated has a right to say: «I and my Father are one.» That was said in love, cause I have no other existence but the Father and I am one.
It wasn`t said I am God, just like a saint, he was fairly a good saint, I heard about him, but he got spoiled by getting the adoration of a few disciples. The little cup can`t take the whole ocean. Cup as big as the ocean can take the whole ocean within itself. So when I approached this man, I prostrated myself before him and I prostrated very sincerely. I did not touch his feet which I never did except to Master. And as soon as he saw me very meek and humble he said right away to impress me more; he said: «I am God!»
He was very much astonished to what followed. I said: «[What] don`t you say so. Is it?» He was so angry with me. I used to carry a little mirror, and I said: «Look at the God! There He is.» All the face broken up with sourness. And I turned and walked out and he ran after me. (He got hold-up me)(?). He said: «I am very sorry.» That proved he was a saint. «You have awakened me. I am very sorry what I did.» I said, «A few disciples have spoiled you. Why didn`t you follow what you —-? Why —– you are a great soul? Why did you have to tell me you are God?» That`s why God does not speak from the clouds to anyone except to individual souls who are liberated. That`s why throughout history God has seldom talked to masses. Never to the whole world. Because He does know how great He is. If he knew He wouldn`t be great. So these people did`t know the spirit of Jesus.
The Sabbath Day is meant principally to put your mind on God. You don`t do that. It is extremely necessary. We are reviving the custom. And one day at least a few hours you should wholly think on nothing but God by practice your meditations. By which you feel that divine bliss and your whole week will be charged with the divine consciousness. And because you don`t observe that Sabbath you don`t give one day even your whole mind on God, your week is full of worries and your months are full of worries and years of life spending worry and the harvest of. Sin means error, mistaken existence is death.
Means a sorrowful change, a sorrowful transition from this life to the other. There is no death possible to the soul. Why go out of this body in disaster in sorrow but if you observe the real Sabbath of thinking of God and doing all activities for God or doing all activities with the thought of God. That is the real Sabbath. ——–pull up your bullock from the ditch with the thought of God on the Sabbath Day. This is all right. It is observance of Sabbath.
If you keep on doing material things, and think of God all the time still it`s Sabbath, but if you do material things without the thought of God and thinking that you are observing the Sabbath Day, it is not Sabbath. But if you meditate upon God, as much as you can on the Sabbath Day: That`s the real Sabbath. But that does not mean, that while you are thinking of God and somebody is dying in front of you and you said it`s too bad, it`s Sabbath Day you`ve got to die.
Well God will say: «What`s the matter with you? I am dying in that body and you don`t help me». God is the One that`s playing this drama and if you don`t exercise the spirit of mercy and sympathy and love that He has given you, you are not good at all in the eyes of God. The best way to observe the Sabbath Day`s when you observe the Sabbath you are thinking of God. Today and you meditate some then you come in the evening meditations because one day you should keep your mind on one subject, God. Then it is real Sabbath. The thing is this. You must give one day to God. Cause I know some have irate husbands and irate wives. And some husbands come here and some wives come here they have difficulties in understanding but even then surcharge yourself in the morning with the thought of God that your whole day will be a Sabbath Day. There is always a way. Whenever you want to do a thing you can do it in spite of obstructions. When you think of God, in spite of all troubles, then, God knows, God will know that you want Him very badly.
But these people did not understand the meaning of Sabbath. Did not understand that Jesus was one with God. And that he did not egotistically plant himself in the prune of omnipresence, but that he knew he was one with God. When you know that it is alright to say anyway you want to. But without that knowledge if you say: «I am God»; it`s very simple. And usually those that are one with God they do not say so. But when they are one with His love they can say: «I and my Father are One.» But I don`t think Jesus said ever that: «I am God.»
That`s why he clearly said: «Even what my Father knows I know not.» So many little minds say I am God. There are two things which in America I find so many claiming to be gods and live forever.
One teacher were a great follower. He told me that he was going to live forever. I said: «That`s the very good thing to think, cause you`ll live long. But when you die there`ll be nobody to question you, argue about it that you lied». He got very mad. And later on, he died. And anybody that says: «I`ll live forever», meaning the body: watch if his hair is falling, or teeth, you know that he`s lying. If he can`t keep his hair forever how he could keep his body forever. The great masters will never say that publicly. Babaji, he said he`d live forever. He is living. But he said only to a few. He wouldn`t just publicly declare to all blind students to keep them going. But he`ll live forever. God never permits, that`s why…because He is impersonally in His infiniteness.
That`s why He doesn`t permit any human being to live forever. The great masters can produce a body any time. What`s the difference. Any time Lahiri Mahasaya can produce a body or Christ. Christ and Lahiri Mahasaya met. Christ and Babaji met. Christ met Saint Francis every night in the woods of Assisi. But he isn`t allowed to come publicly in the same form, cause God`s creation will be exploded right away then. He wants people to seek Him with great earnestness and the divine romance between men and God will disappear if He publicly declairs Himself. He has made Himself very plain in the flowers in the sky, in the sun, moon, stars and the capillary system of the human body and the metabolic system and the electrical system in the body He has clearly proved that we are not responsible for all the workings of the mechanisms: they are being taken care of by the Infinite.
That`s why, sometimes when the doctors say: «I`ll keep my patient alive». Well, God laughs. Because if He has made up His mind to take him, He will take him. And no doctors can help then. But if He keeps the person and all the doctors say you`d go you, you won`t.
Somebody was telling me one day in Encinitas. I admit that by carrot juice he had live long and escape death. He was very thin and ———-but he is very well. And very spritely but he went a little too far. And he said: «I`ll, I`ll tell you how to fool Saint Peter». I said: «By carrot juice?» He said: «Yes.» He said, «I fooled him three times!» I said, «If Saint Peter makes up his mind to take you, all the carrot juice could not help you. Don`t tell me about fooling Saint Peter with carrot juice.» So he walked away. He didn`t have anything to say.
We had a nice time on the 26th about the declaring the Republic of India. I was glad I was able to go there. I have been in seclusion because I`ve been working fourteen to seventeen hours a day and God asked me to be with Him only. That`s why I was away. But I was happy to go there. Many things I wanted to say but I couldn`t. I was so charged with the joy of the occasion but I know that the Spirit spoke to me, whatever I wanted to say. And one of the things that I wanted to impress that though I am happy about the Republic of India, the greatest dark cloud that has appeared is the division of Hindustan and Pakistan.
I can picture what could have happened in America if it was divided between North and the South. Thanks to the instrumentality of that great, great soul, Abraham Lincoln. We need somebody like that. Too bad, Mahatma Gandhi was killed. He tried his utmost, but it`s the most excruciating pain I have this division between Hindustan and Pakistan. Well that`s His drama. God has to have always a villain on the screen. That`s the worst part. But the thing is, we pray that India does not in any way imitate the falls of the western republics, but only their good points and that India never forsakes Her religion, a true religion, our tru religion which is based on the eternal principles of all religions. The definition of religion is dharma. Dharma means ———————————————-which protects you from all suffering: physical, mental, and spiritual for all times. And that is my prayer today.
Though I know you do not know what it is to be feathered but now that India has become free I feel that feather that political freedom all from the body and the mind. But it`ll take a long, long time.You see, just as in the war that occurred between the North and the South, the effects of that war haven`t still let the South. That should be more cooperation between the North and the South. It is something I think most realize. What a tremendous thing Abraham Lincoln did by bringing together North and the South. And that is my prayer today that some Abraham Lincoln come in India who will bring the Muslims and the Hindu brothers together. Because we have lived under the same skies. The thing is: India needs that brotherhhood now but I am sure the spirit of India which is all embracing will ultimately work under situation between the Muslims and the Hindus. A thought from the Whispers from Eternity:
«Holding to the log of laughter,
I will float to the shores of bliss,
I will sing to the voices of all,
I`ll preach through all temples and prayers,
I will love with the love of God,
I`ll think with the thoughts of all.
The hearts of all will be my heart,
the souls of all will be my soul,
and the smiles of all my smile».
That is the subject today. I like technical subjects. But this is something I think is wonderful. Many psychologists teach you how to smile and they say well if you can`t smile stand in front of the mirror and pull your muscles that you can smile. That`s a good idea. And some will smile hahahahahahaha. «I could chop off your head. Get out of my way. You don`t know what I`m feeling inside.» You know. That kind of smile. I don`t mean that you should smile that way. I don`t mean the smile of contempt, smile of sarcasm, or any kind of smile that`s born of greed or lust or any unwholesome psychological trait, but that kind of smile which indicates in your facial muscles a pure sincerity, joy of your being, nobleness, mercy, sympathy, kindness, all the holy traits. Psychological traits that make you happy and make others happy. Nobody wants to go near —— —————-. Cause immediatelly it will turn ——————-it is something repulsive.
Nobody likes to be with somebody without a smile. Thousands of divorces have occurred in this country because the wife or the husband did not smile. When you smile and the smile comes from your heart then the prince of smiles is canopied beneath your celestial brow and your soul smiles through your heart and your heart smiles through your eyes. Then you are a smile millionaire. Scatter the smiles wherever you go enriching other souls and enriching yourself. It is necessary…smiles are so much necessary in the world. That`s why I read a little bit comics. I know it`s a waste of time still it keeps his smiling. I think that Dagwood is the best.
The name is wonderful. You see, I am making you smile. In my school I used to keep everybody in laughter but when I was serious, and serious is the thinking of the divine subjects, I did not smile. But in boarding house there is always somebody who relaxes everyone from their serious duties and goes on smiling and being a clown. That`s really objectionable. Because that brings you down from your high purpose. It`s easy to be frivolous(?) when you`re in young, boyhood or girlhood.
You should be more sober and sincere. And smile dignified and joyously and innocently and happily, that`s very fine. But not…those that are young, you should not have boisterous laughter. If you do you will find your heart empty of the real joy. And you will be most like the laughing hyena. I remember somebody in…we were staying for a little while at Salt Lake and we were swimming but there was a boy if you heard his laughter you would passed out right now. Many were ————under their breath calling him Jack. Dash. You see I never liked that word but I liked that word first applied to him. He was smiling. He was laughing. I never realized how a human being could laugh that way. And he kept it up for days and at last I quit going to swim with him.
Everything is all right if it is properly expressed. Insincere smiles do not befit a sincere man. If you feel that you have to smile insincerely, do not smile. But when you smile…remember when you`re smiling about something, about somebody doing something: remember you are approving it. Another thing I never forgot when I was in Colorado Springs and I saw the word Mormon writen on stones and I asked this man in the car: «What`s that?» All their people living in Salt Lake and they have horns on their foreheads and he said so practically and so he was revolting in my ignorance and I almost believed that they have horns so when I, the train stopped near Salt Lake I began to watch. I saw nobody on the platform had horns and I thought somebody in the town must have horns but I felt a wonderful vibration. And that`s why I specially made it my point to go to Salt Lake City and wonderful students came from there: Mr. Wright, who went to India with me and who had written something about Master, he was also from Salt Lake. And Miss Faye Wright. She joined the work in…eighteen years she is now in the work. So you see I was so happily surprised that Mormons have no horns. They are very, very good people, and very devout people.
The real smiles what I mean is this, the smile of bliss, when you meditate, when you feel that joy of God`s presence, and if you keep that joyous smile on your face and that is the smile, that was, that is in Lahiri Mahasaya`s face. The smile of divine bliss. Seeing the world and yet not seeing it. But seeing Him fully. His smile in the joy that I have on my breast. Something that you should have. That is the kind of smile to have all the time. And that smile does not break forth in horse laughter. Or, has no other meaning but like a fragrance of smile oozing out from the core of your blossomous soul, calling forth others to bathe in that divine fragrance of bliss. Even as a rose calls: come and bathe in my fragrance so a divine man with the divine smile is greater than a rose consciously calling others to bathe in that fragrant smile.
Man goes through four states. When his desire is fulfiled, he is happy. When his desires are denied, he is unhappy. When he`s neither happy nor sorrowful he is full of boredom and somebody says: «What`s the matter with you?» Somebody sitting this way. «Are you happy?» «Don`t bother me.» «Are you unhappy?» «Don`t bother me. I am bored.» Then if you are peaceful, when you are neither…you are on the tide, on the wave of pleasure or in the dump(?) between pleasure, and pain, bored, or on another wave of sorrow. When all these three emotions, three states of the mind: pleasure, pain, and boredom are shaved off, then you have peace. Peace is the absence of sorrow and excitement of pleasure or boredom. When that peace comes then you can smile peacefully.
Some people have a little money, good health, no troubles, retire in a place, there`s no exitement of pleasure or pain or boredom; they become too peaceful so they begin to think: well, please knock us on the head to make us feel we are alive. Very few people have peace in the world, but as soon as some people have protracted peace, they lose it. They begin to lose, they want to get rid of it. Peace is a very desirable state. After a tumultuous existence riding on the crest of pain and pleasure, and often dipped into the state of boredom, you find when you are floating in the calm sea of peace—it`s wonderful. But greater than that state after peace is the bliss of the soul. It`s ever new joy.
Joy that never goes and leaves your soul unto eternity. That can be attained only by percieving God. No other way you can get that bliss. Whenever you are so called happy remember you are going to be unhappy. And when you are unhappy, you can`t reach in that state you have to be happy. And if you are neither happy or unhappy you have to be bored. Now I watch the faces of people. I see all these different kinds of emotions writing in their face. Either they are happy—what happened?—Oh, I`ve got some money. I`ve met some friend. Always the desire is fulfilled the face is smiling. When the desire is denied that face is full of sorrow. And when neither I see the emotion of sorrow, or pleasure reflected in the face, there is boredom. A few have peace as their real fragrance in the face. When you have a pot under the moon and you are agitating the water in that pot you have destorted reflection of the moon. When you still the waves in the pot you have a clear reflection of the moon. As soon as the water in the pot is calm, that`s the state of peace. When all your sensations and thoughts disappear from your mind in meditation you have a little peace. That`s the negative state of peace born out of the absence of the waves of pleasure, pain, and indifference.
But after a little while just as when you look at the pot when it is still you were glad to get rid of the waves. If you remain still you will be attracted by the moon. So; «Be still and know that you are god.» When you`re still, when you have really stilled your thoughts and if you can consciously still your thoughts and sensations as you possibly do in sleep. That, I can do in a second. You will first experience the state of peace, and you will smile. Your muscles will rear. Muscles of the face will rear the peace of your heart. But if you ponder…if you look through peace, you will be able to see the purity of your soul undistorted by sensations and thought and reflexes of thoughts. And reflexes of associated thoughts. That bliss is called ever new. Saints always have the ever new joy in their hearts. That`s why they are unshakable by anger, or fear or when dissecting on the tables of the mind, dissecting truth or thoughts with the scalpel of reason or intuition they remain unmoved.

Our smiles…ordinary we are born of many kinds of good emotions which are born of doing good or sympathy or love or kindness or mercy and all this things reflect as smiles in our face. Oh, he is suffering. Oh, I love you with the love of God. That`s the real kind of smile. When you love anybody carnally, or for what that face means to you. I don`t mean that you should indulge in that smile. The greatest way to smile is to fill your heart with the love of God. Then you will be able to love everybody with the love of God. Then you will be able to smile all the time. All other forms of smiles are flickering because the emotions flicker and pass away no matter how good they are. Only thing that can last is the joy of God. That is the only time you can smile all the time.
Now I put over my point. Otherwise you will always see when you are merciful and somebody slaps you back you won`t be able to feel that. When you feel human love as a man when his wife died he said this man was very emotional so I told him you would marry within a month. He was very mad with me (you would never see me) but he did marry within a month. His love was so great that he forgot it quickly.
And I never forget how much Master taught when he told me a little story about his life. He said: «When I was young, a little boy, I took a notion to an ugly little dog. And mother brought 40 kinds of —– dogs and I said: «No, I don`t want them I want THAT dog.» That`s the hypnosis in so called romance. They get hypnotised with the face and they can`t forget it. But the real beauty lies not in the dress or the make-up, but in the smile of the soul. When your soul is filled with joy they are very attractive, both men and women, are very magnetic and they can draw their own real mates if they want to get married. I like only the smile of God. Because human beings are puppets. They say today they love you, tomorrow they are in the grave, where is that love, where is that promise. «I love you forever.» I always watch the moon and says how many lovers and beloveds under the bowers lied to each other saying, «Dear beloved I love you forever.» And the moon says, «What liers were they.» Because there are scals and strewn and the graveyards are burnt to ashes and strewned with the winds. It`s only God. If you can make God once say to you: «I love you.» I made my Master say it. And he kept his promise. Though he told others he loved me. He never told me. As you read it in my Autobiography. But I made him. I wanted to hear that word from him.
He never told me that. But he did, and he cried, because I forced him to say it. So you see, he was very hard on me I must tell you that. He used to discipline me for little things. He never criticised my character or anything. But he always…sometimes I`d get up and wrinkled the blanket and before two hundred people he said: «Look, look how, how, how unmannerly he is.» And everybody would laugh at me. And that`s very hard to take. But I never, I never resented it. And as a result I was able…I see why he did that. It was hard to take it because those people that were laughing at me…I could teach them many times, many things.
But I see why he did that to me, and because I knew that my love was greater than all the criticism he could make. Now I can see all my life to criticism and praise and blame that I have gone. I`ve hated nobody, cause when you try to hurt anybody remember you are forgetting that that person has God in his eyes. When Jesus said take this cup away from me but nevertheless let Thy will be done, he said if I would I would borrow two legions of angels from my Father but I will not. Cause if he had used physical power of miracles to destroy his enemies he would have lost God for incarnations. That was the test of God. Cause God has all the power and he doesn`t use vengence on us. He uses persuation or —–by His laws and pretty bad laws too.
If you put your hand in the fire, God will not say I love you; He will burn you. But God doesn`t want you to put you hands. He has given you the freedom to put your hand in the fire or keep out. Why do you try the fire? His laws are pretty hard when you break them. But God doesn`t punish us; that`s why He doesn`t talk, but if you look in the sky and the depth of space night and day calling for the Mother of the Universe you can drag Her in the net of devotion on the shores of your heart. Night and day, why do you waste your time for a little human love and money or this and that? When you got the whole thing, all the love that is in the world, all the power that is in the world that is God. But don`t seek Him for power, but seek Him for Love. That`s where God is weak. When you give Him love, you cannot continue suffering.
Smiles are born due to the indentification of the mind with the different forms of the senses. Some face is beautiful and you like it. Some flower is beautiful and you smile. Some sweet music you hear and you smile with joy. That`s good. Some wonderful fragrance strikes your olfactory nerves and you smile with pleasure. Some wonderful food touches your gustatory nerves, the taste nerves and you smile. You shake hands with somebody who is wonderful spiritual and you smile with joy. Those smiles are wonderful. There are various degrees of smiles. When your emotion is overwhelmed it is too boisterous on the face. That means you are losing the real joy of the depth of an emotion. When you are smileless and feel more deeply about the smile. The psychiological joy corresponding to that smile will be greater. So it is not good to smile as they say it has a horse laughter. Some people say hahahahahaha all the long laughing. Hahahahaha until you just want to run from there. It (acts?) on the nerves but this gentle smile, smile born of some sweet music or sweet touch or smell or some visual impression is beautiful. But I don`t mean that you should always be on the gardens you smile too much. Oh, no. Live so abundantly in bliss that your smile will not be boisterous but very suggestive and wherever you are you will just overpower people with the little vibrations that you start in your face. But behind that vibration will be the smile of your heart and behind the smile of your heart will be the smile of the soul, and behind the smile of the soul will be the smile of the Spirit, then you will be able to smile all the time. Do not act like naughty boys in a boarding house trying to relax everybody and take away from their serious purposes. When I was in boarding houses I used to make them laugh and suddenly stop and bring their minds to my side to serious thinking and meditation. If I didn`t smile they would have shone on me.
Meditate more. You do not know how wonderful it is. It`s much greater then hours going after money. Hours going after human love, or anything else that you can think of. The more you stay in the center and meditate. That`s what I did these days. I`m always there now; nothing affects me whether in the car or with people it`s always there. I entertain my smiles—–hard work. The smiles are there; the joy and the bliss are there. You don`t have to acquire them, but remember them again for you have lost them by indentifying with the senses and thinking that objects of sight or objects of hearing, smell, taste, and touch will give you the supreme pleasure: you are mightily mistaken.
They only take away pleasure, they do not really give you pleasure. As you build more conditions, if I cannot see that face, or hear that voice or music or this and that you will never be happy. If you saw all the beautiful faces of the world, if you heard all the music, and taste, and touch everything that you wanted you would still be very unhappy. The more you try to find your smile digging for the smiles don`t come from. If you try to dig your smiles from the storm of senses you won`t find them————you imagine you are happy. Sometimes you are digging and digging and digging for some getting an object even if you don`t find, just because you put so much labour on yourself, you become happy. Even the most tedious things in life when you do with concentration you become happy.
That`s because you get back your happiness after you put condition on that happiness and when that condition is met you become happy again. Even if you have to do the drudgery work, or you have to turn the wheel in the machine; and you are humming inside, hum, hum om, om, om. After a little while no matter how bothersome it is you begin to like it, because your mind is away from them and you get back your joy from inside.
So do not seek your happiness in the senses; seek your happiness within and express it in your face. When you do that, whenever you`ll go, a little smile will bring. Surcharge everyone with your magnetism. Everybody will be happy. I don`t think consciously I have made any person unhappy in this world , but I can`t help if anybody is jealous of me and becomes unhappy. If anybody is jealous of you because of being good, then you smile a smile of pity. And be more humble, for in the valley of humbleness God`s bliss — ocean will gather, and on the mountain top of ego his — serene will not gather at all. Be humble, and the more you are in bliss, more than reading all the books in the world, more than wasting your time in so many things, and in America everybody is busy and if you keep on running after too many hobbies you won`t have any time left for bliss. I see so many are busy doing so many insignificant things and this and that. When I say I don`t make any rules in that perspective of loving God but I see so many of the disciples lose much time. They are wonderful as I have said they are angels, nothing short of angels, most of them are, almost all of them. As Divine Mother promised me last summer that I am sending… I`ve sent you a few bad ones in the beggining to test your love for Me I am sending you angels now.
We are a hundred and twenty strong now. Instead of twenty five which used to be. The thing is, I remember in the years, years ago, we were few and we all were always afraid of who would come and start to reform us and they needed the reforming so badly. I never lifted my finger to hurt anybody. Yes, a few wanted to hurt me but they hurted themselves severely. But I see now the Divine Spirit is sending angels I don`t know how to keep them now for so many coming. It`s wonderful to see, and that`s how we make the disciples of the Order or the ministers of the Order. Those that will minister unto others through love and kindness and not primitivism.
We watch the karma, the good karma of the past. That`s why we draw those people and God sends those people unto us. It is not good to give a title of D.D. to anyone who has an intelectual power or power or memorization well he gets the D.D. when, then you tell him that he is doctor of divinity and he is only a doctor of delusion. To be a real minister, the greatest qualification is that you have stored of good karma of the past and that you want to add to your past good karma by doing good karma willingly. That`s why I again and again tell all the residents of the Colony it is based on your free will and hundred percent desire to be good. We do not want anyone with one percent less, not one percent less.
It is based on your own will or get out. Because we don`t want to force anybody and it`s most wonderful to see how many wonderful souls are hundred percent following this path. That`s why I don`t have to say anything. But we give them discipline. I meditate upon them almost every day as I go through their souls and if I feel happy I don`t say anything. And I see the change upon them for it is God only who changes not we. We must not at all strive ourselves the power to do good. Only one that does good is God. It is His world. And if you love Him only one thought of Him will change others and heal others and as soon as you say «I will do it» you will be finished.You may have a little power.
For God has given you some powers but that power, you will use, will be exhausted very quickly but if you feel Him as the indweller of this body and He who works anything. Give Him good and bad actions everything to Him and you`ll be surprised to see the suddenly you will be changed; your all actions will be changed to good cause you will not be able to do anything wrong with the consciousness of God. Give it to Him. It`s He not I, not I Lord. Destroy that ego. That ego is a great obstruction, you are not the doer. You can`t lift you hand if the Lord stop the little beam in your medulla and go dead lie there. Why, when you don`t know anything about the mechanism. Another thing that I realized lately when I was sitting with the great soul at Encinitas I was surrounded, it was very cold, you know, in one second time I couldn`t feel cold at all. Joy came over and once in a while I`d see everything wiped away just like the beam of a motion picture. The beam is there, there is nothing there and I see the picture at the end and it change to the beam and there is nothing there and I concentrate on the picture [and] I see the picture, I concentrate on the world I see the world, I concentrate on God and there was no world even with an open eyes. Why not? Can you see anything without your consciousness? No! So when you have full mastery over your consciousness even with your open eyes as you look within you, you feel that great joy and light as you look out through your consciousness you see everything there.
This is a motion picture of God. And I could see one side of sensations and thoughts where the dreams of my own consciousness which came from God and as I retire within there were no sensations at all: just pure joy. And standing in that terrific cold, bare body, I could feel that cold and scenery disappear and joy alone come then I could feel this life, impressions of sensations with that great joy. Practise it. Don`t be satisfied with the little prayer or seeing a little light and going to bed. Sleep is a drug. There are much more beautiful things than sleep and if you can fairly control sex and if you can fairly control the senses and go after God with all the power of your soul He will free you.
Even if you were the greatest moralist and greatest spiritual man without the perception of God you have nothing; you have very little. But if you have the love of God, and if you try to perceive Him you will see that you have obeyed all rules by that perception. So do not deceive yourself. Meditate more unceasingly, unceasingly and sincerely. Tell God: «You know, I know my troubles, I know my weaknesses but Lord, they belong to you because you created me. But Lord, I have no wish. My virtues and vice, if any, belong to You, but I love You, Lord, because You are the One that is playing and You are free so am I free because I am Your child.» Don`t call yourself a sinner.
Don`t call yourself a virtuous man and be proud but say that the Lord is with you and He is working through you. No one else there. And you will see a different world. Without the consciousness of God this world is full of struggles, murders, and terrible things but with Him is the nest of happiness.
I remember when I was watching this «Song of Bernadette» I saw twice the picture in succession and I was crying all the time overwhelmed and joy also possessed my heart. But at last I said, «What`s the matter with me?» I looked at the pictures and I saw shadows and light and [as I] looked at the beam it was an invisible beam and I lost the consciousness of drama. I couldn`t cry anymore and I walked out. Then the great joy of Spirit came over me. See when you are concentrated on this drama of life and get hurt you`ll be all the time hurt or smiling and hurt alternately, but if you say this is only a picture show of God.
Troubles and tragedies, life and death; these mean nothing to God. God can duplicate any person that has gone out of the world in a second. He wants you to know that. He wants you to know this is a show. But if you take this so seriously you will get very hurt and you won`t like it. You won`t be able to stand life, you won`t be able to stand disease and pain. Whenever anything hurts the body I put my mind here. I feel no pain at all. When I concentrate I feel delusion of pain. When I concentrate on the part hurt I feel delusion of pain so the thing is this: if you keep your mind here you will not feel pain and suffering and sorrow. Keep your mind here and pray unto Him unceasingly. And don`t feel satisfied. You have spent so much time, lost so much time. Death may take you away at once and then you won`t have time to know Him. So you must know Him before you go out and it is never late no matter how you are being torn; say: «It is the drama, Lord. Don`t frighten me. I want to see Your beam. I want to feel Thy presence.» He won`t let you out of this hospital of delusion until you cure yourself of your individual desires.
You must get out of your individual desires. Do everything for God. You know, working for God is just as much as meditation, but activity without God will not give you that happiness that you ——— that you`ll find. If you meditate on God at night until you are lifted and feel locked in that joy then come down and do the activities during the day you will be always with God, and you`ll always smile and you will say: «The little bit of sorrow and a little bit of exciting pleasure or boredom or little bit of peace cannot create tumult in the ocean of calm ever new bliss.» My soul is filled. I challenge everthing to destroy my peace, my bliss. I and danger were born together and I am the eldest brother, more dangerous than danger. Laugh at delusion, watch it, and it cannot work on you any more.
Be in that bliss, stand unshaken amidst the crash of breaking worlds and you shall find that God is real. He doesn`t mean to hurt you. He has made you in His image. He has made you already what He is. That`s what you don`t realize. Because you have acknowledged that you are a human being. That`s why you have to climb back to God. Deny, deny your race and what is in the past doesn`t belong to you any more. Why talk of karma and karma. I`m so tired of Americans talking of karma. India fell politically because of too much believing in karma. I remember a student in Seattle. They used to have a friend ——–back. They both —————. Every year they used to lose thousands of dollars and they came to consult me. You are with God», I said. «We will talk about it.» I said, «The answer lies in you. Why did you allow yourself to suffer such losses.» Is there a ——-, another means to destroy the freezing. I said: «Yes. Think, the answer is going to come.»
What about ——– some chemicals. I said: «Yes. An aeroplane and throw this dust of chemicals ———«. Well next year he made twenty five thousands dollars first time. Every year he made many thousands after. The thing is: there is a common saying among people political power————————————-. Fate is supreme and it must take its course as the cow follows the cat, neither education nor power is of any consequence. That`s a stupid statement. I am the child of God. He is playing, He is not simple. I wonder and said to the Lord. I asked His pardon. I said: «Lord, You are the greatest sinner and You are the greatest virtuous —————Beam creates the villain and the virtuous.» And God laughed. And I said: «How can I be Your child if I have karma, good or bad.» He laughed. He liked it. He wanted me to be one with Him. Then I would have all the fun. To watch the fun of the world but I always cannot reconcile this thought, that there are many, Lord, millions who do not know that this world is only a drama; What about them? He doesn`t answer.
I know the answer, but I don`t like it. Cause [there`re] so many who do not know this is a delusion and when you are suffering from cancer; it is no fun. But when you sleep you forget the cancer. If you are one with God you will forget all the terrible troubles. I know some saints have terrible cancer but those saints never prayed for the cancer. Look at Saint Francis. He ——tell me of all kinds of diseases and at the same time he was healing the dead. This joy of God wouldn`t be taken away. So before any trial of disease comes. It is very troublesome before you have realized God. So by all means get to Him. And He won`t let you there unless you have proved to Him that you want Him and do not want to get mixed up in His show and as long as you want to reform the world and do something tremendous. It is wonderful.Yes, you should do.
But as long as you think that you are the doer you will be bound and you won`t be let out. First find Him. Why all the time do some good and awaken people. Smile all the time with this joy, then you shall know this world not terrible; it`s only a place of cosmic motion picture and the motion picture has to be different in order to be entertaining. We couldn`t have only angels walking on this earth, then nobody would be interested in this world. They would always yawn at each other. There are so many bad people that when some become good it`s wonderful. When you have lots of sorrow, then when you have little happiness you appreciate.
But we don`t have to go through all this terrible troubles. I said: «Lord, You never experimented with this drama of sorrow or pleasure on Yourself, so …», I said: «Why do You experiment on us?» He has given me the thought to think, so I think all these things every day. He doesn`t create any distrust. Because He is with me. He smiles at me, He tells me why it is so. But unless you become Him, you cannot understand the whole——– Don`t question God. You`d only reaped out.
If you are reading a novel and you get very much frustrated and angry of how this hero has been mistreated, how this villain is winning and you see all this chapters contradicting each other, well you won`t like to read the novel. When you read the last chapter, you will see how wonderful that novel is because it`s so complex. This creation is wonderful, it`s very complex, that`s why the writer is God. And don`t try to get the answer yourself; you will be lost. When you find Him, He will, in the last chapter, give you the answer for everything you want to know and you won`t be able to question Him when you hear His answers.
That I know. Many things that I questioned and doubted and this is my latest thing which I am telling God: «Lord, why don`t you experiment? You never felt suffering and sorrow. You created suffering and sorrow. Why do You try it on us?» And you know what He says? He says: «I didn`t. I made you just as much as Myself. Why do you concentrate on that?» I said, «Lord, You didn`t have to concentrate on sorrow and pleasure. You`re always happy.» You know what He says? «I wanted to divide Myself and I am bringing them all back to Me. But will you want to say that I`ll be your God?» I said, «Terrible hobby!» Unless you get out you don`t know whether you`ll be lying down of cancer or trouble or your life snapped out by automobile or——–
Why live in this terrible world with this terrible fears. Live with God and no fear in the world…all fears will be afraid of you. You will be free from this cosmic delusion, then you will smile. I know it all. At last I know them. But don`t try to know first. Love God first then He will tell you everything. And then smile, smile, smile, eternally smile and your thoughts and everything will have that smile. Wherever you meditated that will leave a fragrance of smile, and whenever will come in contact with you —————— they will smile with God. Then you can smile all the time. When you smile with the eternal bliss of Spirit.
Raise your hands. «The Heavenly Father, I surrender myself to Thee, I am Thine, receive me. I bow to the Heavenly Father, Jesus, the great Masters, and Guru, I bow to Them again and again. May Thy love shine forever, on the sanctuary of my devotion, may I be able, to awaken Thy love, in true hearts. I am Thine, receive me». Ooooommm. Aaaamen.
Hold the thought of peace and joy. Make your life different by hundred percent following Self-Realization and meditating upon God. God ever bless you. Om.
